A pretty good night for

A pretty good night for Boston fans. Celtics win, Bruins win, and Pedro and Schilling were on the mound for the Red Sox.

Gordon Edes looks at some Florida heat blasted on the Reds by the Sox pair of aces. Jeff Horrigan looks at the performance of the two, especially Pedro against Ken Griffey Jr. Sean McAdam says it was a fine start for the two. David Heuschkel has Sandy Koufax getting a look at the Sox aces at the invitation of Dave Wallace. Howard Bryant has a pay column saying that Pedro and Schilling will determine this season. He also says with the two of them on the mound last night, it marked the beginning of the season. Horrigan’s notebook has Pokey Reese sitting out after taking a fist in the jaw from Dave McCarty. (not what it sounds like) Edes’ notebook says that Keith Foulke will make his debut on Friday. McAdam’s notebook has more on Schilling’s outing last night.

Nancy Marrapese-Burrell and Steve Harris look at a monster game by Jumbo Joe in leading the Bruins to a 3-2 win over the Predators last night. Kevin Paul Dupont looks at a busy day of trading in the NHL. Douglas Flynn notes that 24 of the league’s 30 teams were involved in deals yesterday. Karen Guregian says the Bruins have kept up with the competition. Marrapese-Burrell and Joe McDonald look at the players acquired by the Bruins yesterday. Harris’ notebook also looks at the deals made by the Bruins yesterday. Marrapese-Burrell’s notebook looks at Sandy McCarthy being claimed by the Rangers.

The Celtics moved into a tie for sixth place in the conference with a road win at New York last night. Fox Sports Net has all the links from Boston and New York.

Tom Curran says that both Sammy Morris and Scott McGarrahan have received offers from the Patriots and are in the process of considering them. Michael Felger says the Patriots could be interested in Steelers punter Josh Miller.

John Molori’s Media Blitz looks at a hearing impaired fan who has plenty of opinions on the local teams and media.

FSN has Celtics/Lakers at 7:00. Both ESPN and ESPN2 have college hoops doubleheaders starting at 7:00.
