Some horrible news, Hartford Courant sportswriter Alan Greenberg passed away suddenly today at the age of 55 from an apparent heart attack.

Greenberg leaves behind a wife and three children, Alex, 13; Allison, 10; and Abigail, 7.

Greenberg had covered the Patriots for the Courant for a number of years, and was a regular guest on FSN’s Sports Tonight program. He was a tough, but generally fair reporter, and put together some excellent Patriots coverage. He had been at the Courant since 1984.

This is just devastating news, and my thoughts are with his family at this extremely difficult time.
