Gordon will be a talent wherever he goes, but the Globe has seen its best days. The way to restore health to the newspaper industry is to find a way to grow advertising revenues, or to charge consumers for on-line access. No rational industry observer thinks either will happen. Meanwhile, editorial bias and unhinged, angry columnists add to the mass exodus of readers.
