Judging by what I heard from Roberts on Bill Simmons’ podcast, his knowledge of the game and the way he can present it to an audience is a LOT more like Eck than Rice. Good hire by NESN, but I am confused because he did say he lives in San Diego full-time.

Regarding the last sentence. I’d say his best year was 2004, actually. If I’m not mistaken, didn’t he go through the entire season, NL and AL, as well as the post-season, without being caught stealing even once?
