Patriots Prepping for Eagles

The Patriots kick off their preseason schedule tomorrow night down in Philly against the Eagles.

Over on Patriots Daily, we have a guest post from an Eagles blogger, who fills us in on what’s happening down there. Check back throughout the day for more posts leading up to the game.

Mike Reiss has Tom Brady eager and ready to go in tomorrow night’s opener. Ian R. Rapoport says Brady wants to play, but there are still no guarantees that he will. Robert Lee has Bill Belichick not saying for sure whether Brady is going to play. Andy Vogt says the question of Brady’s status for tomorrow is still unanswered. Rich Garven notes that all the focus on tomorrow’s game revolves around Brady. Christopher Price has Brady pronouncing himself ready to go. Glen Farley has Brady feeling great. Mark Farinella notes that Brady is treating tomorrow night as just another game.

Karen Guregian has the Patriots bringing in various players with the long season in mind. Hector Longo says that schemes and formations take a backseat to talent on defense. Ben Collins has long snapper Jake Ingram hoping to continue his quiet camp. Rapoport has Robert Kraft saying that labor uncertainty has the team hesitant to hand out long term deals. Farinella offers up a few Ponderous thoughts.

Thomas Grillo has the Patriots teaming up with the Massachusetts State Lottery.

Reiss’ notebook has Nick Kaczur among the offseason workout winners for the Patriots. In Rapoport’s notebook, Bill Belichick says his team is looking forward to playing someone other than themselves. The very extensive ProJo Patriots journal has Andrew alter with a lot of catching up to do. Vogt’s notebook tabs Robert Kraft as a man of predictions yesterday. Farley’s notebook has Darius Butler showing a lot of development in camp. Garven’s notebook has more from Kraft. Farinella’s notebook looks forward to seeing some of the new playbook.

Misc

The Stanley Cup is coming to Boston  Bolton! Sean Jacquet reports that for $10 you can get your picture taken tomorrow with Stanley Cup Champion Hall Gill and the Cup. No word on a Bourque-like parade.

Mark Blaudschun goes through a day of BC football with head coach Frank Spaziani. Steve Conroy has defensive tackle Damik Scafe getting his chance this season with B.J. Raji and Ron Brace gone to the NFL.

Frank Dell’Apa has Leon Powe signing a two year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. I’ll never understand the Celtics unceremonious dumping of Powe. Rumors have the Celtics making a last minute bid after learning of the Cavs interest, but by that time it was too little, too late.
