		<description>I think it&#039;s a crime that a once-great organization like the Royals (7 post-season appearances in 10 seasons from 1976-85) has been relegated to complete joke status over the last decade-plus.

Baseball has to do something about this &quot;haves&quot; and &quot;have nots&quot; disparity. 

I grew up watching teams like the Reds, Pirates and Royals in the playoffs almost every year....none of those franchises even has a shot in this post-1994 strike baseball environment (part of it is crappy and cheap ownership, I know, but a bigger part of it is the new economics of baseball IMO).</description>
