From his Game Plan column today:

I’ve always heard, reliably, that the Colts never trusted that they were totally alone in the Colts’ locker room in Foxboro, and that when Manning had something of strategic significance to say to offensive coordinator Tom Moore, they both stepped outside into the concourse outside the locker room. So if you’re outside the locker room Sunday, don’t be surprised to see Manning and his first-year coordinator, Christensen, huddling for a few minutes.

To me, this isn’t all that different from John Tomase saying that he was told, reliably, that the Patriots taped the Rams walkthrough prior to Super Bowl XXXVI.

Peter thinks Bill Belichick won’t speak to him because of this (Tweeted earlier this week):

RT @ehose2110: What’d you do to ruin your relationship with Belichick? …Wrote, broadcast my opinion about Spygate, I guess. He never said.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck

  1. Bruce, I might be reading this wrong but I dont think you can blame Peter on this one. Hes saying the Colts dont feel like its safe and this is what Peyton does. He's not reporting anything the Patriots are doing or reporting the actions that have the Colts paranoid are facts like Tomase did. I think you're reaching on this one as it sounds to me that the Colts are just spooked similiar to how the Lakers felt about the Boston Garden and Red. And my bet is the "reliable" source is Polian who is a paranoid nutcase.

    1. I guess that's one way to look at it, but to me, for Peter to "report" this, in the way that he did, he seems to be lending credibility to the Colts feelings on this.

  2. Al Davis (when he was still alive) also was accused of doing the very same thing at the old Oakland Coliseum and the LA Colisuem during Raiders' home games. Al never denied it. Of course, it's funny how these accusations against Belichick and the Pats always seem to find the light of day, and the national spotlight (like a Peter King Tweet), while the much more credible accusations of the Colts pumping in fake crowd noise at the old RCA Dome were dismissed out of hand almost instantly (despite the fact that a security guard at the RCA Dome said that they DID do that, and despite the fact that the Patriots were not the only visiting team to complain about it).

  3. In the end… this an embarrassing story…
…for the Colts. Seriously. Why doesn't anyone, especially Peter King, take one second to think, and realize that this is not plausible and truly ridiculous?
I think a anonymous 'Pats official' should whisper to Peter that they think the Jets use an unmanned drone to tweak opposing player's hamstrings. Let him run with it.

    Uggh.
